Life in paris

Life in paris.
I love the french language and their culture.
I know the bad points, but I don't care.

I love their food, their art, their writing, their cartoons.

Paris, je t'aime. Paris, je adore.

Jana’s Journal and Sketchbook

http://janabouc.wordpress.com/

found the shop, Castle in the Air, that carries Noodler’s Ink (highly touted by artists in the Every Day Matters group as the only waterproof ink that won’t clog fountain pens and great for use in the Lamy Safari pen). The gentleman working there insisted that Noodlers is not waterproof and showed me his smeared sample of the ink that he’d brushed with water (in a cool little handmade book with samples of all their many, many inks). While he was persuasive and fun to talk to (being another art supply lover and an artist) I decided to buy the ink and try it for myself.

Someone whose children are in lebanon

My kids were supposed to stay in Beirut with their dad´s family for 2 weeks, then they would travel on to spend some holiday with their paternal aunt (who married a Jordanian citizen) in Amman, diving a few days in Aqaba and at the Saudi border, and then perhaps travel on to another paternal aunt in the United Arab Emirates (their cousin married a UAE citizen last year). Now my kids are in deep s..., because the zionist occupation forces have bombed Lebanon, killing several civilians, destroying important bridges and smashing two runways of Beirut International Airport. Fatima sent me an SMS around half past 6 in the morning, telling me they love me and they are alright. I´ve told her back thru SMS to get the hell out of Lebanon on the next cab, but received no answer. Internet shops are out of question, as are phones, because the zionists bombed electricity power stations, too.

Israel invades Lebanon

Geist: I wish Israel would just stop bombing, rocketing and killing people and children.

Most of the casualties are between 18 months to 12 years of age, a blatant sign that the "democracy" of Israel has no value for civilian life, infant or otherwise. The lack of humanity on the part of the Israelis is beyond a question of disproportionate. Murdering innocent civilians aimlessly is criminal behavior at its worst, and has done nothing but strengthen the recently withering power of Hizbullah. -Yalibnan

I was taken ten years back yesterday. It was back in high school, last year of it. I don't remember laughing as much as I did that year. Choked laughter in class, laughing out loud while getting kicked out of the class by my Biology teacher and the tricks we played in the day light and dark.

I think it hit really hard that April.I was addicted to school. My life rotated around my friends and that school. It was my escape, away from the pain that the house brought, the severe fits of missing my dad and the panic of "what's next".They left the village and came to our house in Beirut, announcing reality.I felt the world closing down on me:What do you mean I can't go to school? What do you mean we have 4 families at the house? What do you mean I have to give up my bed? What do you mean it's going to be weeks before normal life kicks back in?I cried like a kid who kicks and screams in refusal to go to school. But on the contrary, I want to run to school. I sobbed because my world was closing down on me, because I felt claustrophobic in that full house, because I couldn't see Mel's face that makes me laugh my heart out, because I can't walk to school.

It hit hard with Qana. Seeing the bodies, the skull-less infant, the weeping mothers, the .....I listened to my mom's hysteria, to my jiddo's " La 7awla wala Qwa Ila Bil lah" to his palm meeting his beloved palm, to the screams ..... and everything went numb...

Childhood game

Balladofyoko talks about a childhood game she learned when young.

Dear Elena

I can't remember if I talked about this before. Dear Elena is one of those blogs you will keep going back too.

I have my own recent deaths to deal with and I'm sure you do too, or old deaths to remember. And this blog gives me a lot to think about as I read it.

Its gives me hope and sadness I think. I have the sadness anyway and I find reading this helps me think about it in a more positive way.

Life on the edges of society

I came across on wordpress Compartments: An Escorts Weblog. And so I read it.
It has a lot of links in the blog roll of women living lives different to the norm.

I also read some of
http://ex-courtesan.blogspot.com/
http://www.jetsetblog.com/
http://postmoderncourtesan.com/

Some of the lives seem happier than others. But I'm not really in a place to know that.
Still this is another story you wouldn't hear about except for blogs.

The Long tail

I applied for a review copy of the long tail ages ago and it arrived the day before yesterday. Im really enjoying reading it. Its compared to the tipping point on the front page. I'm inclinded to agree so far. I read the tipping point about 6-8 years ago.

The long tail is very comfortable to read. The words flow. Everything is explained very well as its easy to keep up. I had heard of the theory of the long tail but I hadn't read his blog. I still havent checked it up so ill leave that to you if you want too.

Ill post more when I'm further into it. Im just at chapter three now.

Im loving the examples. There is lots of them and they are all well done. It mentions Firefly in one example which is very cool. I love firefly.
